ELECTRICAL METER

Sap 1 Phase, 2 wire & 3 phase, 4 wire kWh Energy Meters respectively type RC-122, RC-124, RC-34 and RC-342 are induction type integrated energy meters. These have been successfully developed to meet Electricity Supply Undertaking’s requirements in terms of accuracy & reliability based on fundamental requirements. Also these kWh energy meters conform to Indian Standard Specifications “IS: 13010/1990” as amended upto date.

Sap kWh energy meters combine experience gained through development and rigorous field testing.

Sap kWh energy meters are the choice of discriminating Electrical Engineers throughout the country due to its robust construction, accuracy and reliability, low maintenance cost and long working life.

  •       High torque/weight ratio for error free operation over a long period life, also to have minimum effect on  accuracy, should there be any change in friction in bearings or counter.

  • All the adjustments are micrometric from front-side, easily operable with large range having locking or self locking arrangements, also having almost linear response over the entire range of operation.

THE COMPONENTS

Every component is manufactured under strict quality control inspection at various stages of manufacturing. The ASSEMBLY is carried out on Automatic/Semi-Automatic machines. The TESTING and CALIBRATION of the Meter is done on latest equipments.

  • MAIN FRAME- The main frame, which is the back-bone of the Meter, is made from pressed steel sheet or aluminium alloy die casting with sufficient thickness and special ribs to hold the component strongly and firmly in position. The main frame is stress -relieved to avoid any possibility of distortion in the future. Special care has been taken in designing to have minimum cantilever effect.

  • ROTATING PARTS - Rotating parts consists of 

             a)   ROTATOR DISC of high purity aluminum sheet flattened and stress-relieved. Fixed on a Brass/Steel shaft.
             b)   UPPER BEARING with highly polished stainless steel pin with enough spring action to absorb shocks and vibrations.
             c)   LOWER BEARING with highly polished synthetic sapphire jewel pushed up bya spring within the bearing housing itself                    to protect the double jewels and the tungsten carbide ball from shocks & vibrations.
  • ELECTRO - MAGNET - Electro-magnets are made of transformer grade silicon steel with very low watt losses. The coils are wound on automatic machines with Inter-Layer insulation and re-enforced end-connections to withstand heavy surge currents. Impregnated in superior varnish having low current density in the conductor to protect it from over-heating and burning.

  • BRAKE MAGNET-ALNICO V or VI Magnets having large coercive force, aged by high frequency alternating Magnetic waves, heat and mechanical vibrations to have extremely stable flux, least affected by temperature, magnetic fields and time.

  • TERMINAL BLOCK-Terminal block is made of electrical grade non-hygroscopic Bakelite material, having high die electric strength. The terminals are made out of brass duly nickel plated with two pinching screws for each connection.

  • REGISTER COUNTER -The drums are made of die-casted aluminium or Delrin, which can withstand boiling water test without  softening, with large figures for easy and accurate reading, Stainless steel centreless ground shafts used with suitable lubricant for very low Co-efficient of friction.
